| The Great Britain Elite Womens Team claimed
the bronze medal position at the European Championships held in Belgrade.
Having obtained a well deserved place in the semi-finals from the
early qualifying sessions, the GB Elite squad were narrowly edged
out of the final in a thrilling semi-final against France (eventually
beaten 4-1). In the third place play off, the GB Elite squad cruised
to victory against the hosts Yugoslavia (5 - 1). The result means
the GB Elite team secure bronze for the second successive European
championship. The Netherlands won the final, beating the French (2
- 1) and retaining their European title. |
